Each year we have INFOTECH taking place during the last weeks of November in Mauritius. Big money is paid to organisers by Participants for their stands. Participants just roll old “wine” in new bottle with an attractive package and present them to the visitors as being a new technology. There is much more selling of products rather than unfurling of new technologies and avenues in IT. Do these organisers take Mauritians to be so stupid? Why do they organise such a grand event at the end of each year? Does that mean technology fades out only at the end of a year and new technology comes in at the start of a new year! Finally how much new technology do Mauritians are able to implement in their everyday’s lives. Before You go to visit Infotech 2009 ask yourself some basic questions:
1. How much time am I going to stay there?
2. What are my expectations from this visit?
3. Will I not get much more information, which will be more efficient and up to date, on the net.
4. Am I going to explore new technologies in IT or Am I going for shopping?
